Native Soil

So I’m finally back home. I used some of my frequent flyer perks to get a first-class upgrade from San Diego to Atlanta. The flight wasn’t very full, so the upgrade was easy. I guess most folks don’t fly out of San Diedo on a holiday weekend.

I returned home late Friday evening, only to find that my wife’s truck was not in the driveway. She was home, but the truck had to be towed to a mechanic. She lost a belt on the way home. The truck has been acting wacky the past few weeks. Once the radio starting going weird, I was convinced that the alternator was on the way out (or something in that whole “single drive belt” assembly). We were reluctant to take the truck in, since we’re currently a two car family. But fate and mechanical failure have made the decision for us.

My weekend plans … have fun with friends. There is a Dracon*Con staff meeting tomorrow afternoon, which is merely an excuse to get together with friends for a post-meeting cookout.
