Perhaps I should explain how I got locked in the back of Alice’s car …
Suzan and I went out with our friend Alice last Saturday. We headed off to see Signs and a Three Weird Sisters concert in her new Honda Civic Hybrid. The Civic Hybrid really fits Alice … it’s an economical and clever little car in an unassuming package.
Suzan and Alice had gone tile shopping earlier in the day. Alice is re-tiling her bathroom and my wife is getting ideas for our new home. Suzan had come back home for a riding lesson, then we headed to Alice’s. Since Alice has the super eco-car, it made sense to have her drive to the movies. So we piled into the green-mobile.
My wife insisted she ride up front. I thought she and Alice had something to talk about … girl-stuff, plants, tile comparisons. After starting the car, Alice realized that she didn’t have movie times or directions to the concert. So we decide to dash into the house and obtain the necessary information via the internet. Suzan and Alice hop out of the car while I tug on the back door handle.
I didn’t expect they had laid a trap for me. But Alice and Suzan had decided to set the child locks, trapping me in the back of the Civic.
Economical and clever in an unassuming package … yeah, that’s about right. If my wife is going to plot with another woman to trap me, I’d prefer a different outcome.
