Repositioning The Sun

The time change has once again been put into play. It’s another period where puny humans change their perception of time in an attempt to reposition the sun. Maybe it’s a good excuse for me to make my own changes.

The diminishing window of available sunlight that comes at this time of year does affect my mood, but it has been greatly amplified by the job that ate my brain. Long story short, I am finally getting a handle on my current tasks and the blah they have created in recent months.

Now it’s time to figure out what to work on outside of the office … but that requires setting goals, putting aside things I’d live to work on but can’t justify doing now and shedding things that just don’t work for me anymore.

Yesterday was a good start: video editing & tweaking the computer attached to my TV. It’s a small start, but a step in the right direction. Inertia is my worst enemy, so I’ll fight it one small force vector at a time.
Suzan has decided to make similar changes, but she starts with a more sweeping move … disbanding the goat herd. In a few days, we will be down to just one goat. It’s a little sad to see the animals go, but they’re not exactly a hobby you can put in the hall closet when you don’t have time for it.

Aside from getting hobby time back on track, Suzan and I are making time for friends as well. It often takes driving to the far side of Atlanta (yes, I know people think we live on the far side of Atlanta, but I’m talking people on the other far side of Atlanta), but it’s worth the gas.

I hope this shift makes more time for me to write here, or produces more reasons to write … maybe saving daylight pays some sort of dividends.
