Simple Things

The past few weeks have let me find a few simple things to enjoy while I drift between chores, travel and relaxation.

• Lazy chore days with the spouse. Nothing fancy, just basic time together working on our home.
• Opening all of the windows in the house, relying on the great outdoors for heating & cooling. Yes, I like living in a modern house, but the breeze is nice.
• Lounging on my back porch or in the sky chairs.
• Lunch and/or dinner with friends that does not require weeks of pre-planning and negotiation.
• Getting postcards from friends on the road … reminds me I need to send a few the next time I’m in Germany
• And today’s … a simple, handwritten letter from a friend I have had for years.
