Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans.
Yes Joe, I’m sure that’s what the British said about the stamp tax just before all those “patriots” dumped the tea into Boston Harbor. As someone who would like to be wealthy in his lifetime, I think you might want to stop talking now.
FYI: the standard definition for “wealthy” in terms of IRS tax rates is an individual making over $200,000 per year. He’s not talking about Bill Gates being patriotic, he’s talking about tax increases that could hit a lot of small business owners.
