I was discussing our holiday plans with my friend Amy when she pondered why people with no strong religious belief played along with the “Christmas tradition.”
My response: it’s a homecoming for people who can’t make their own traditions.
Whatever the reason, have some sort of celebration today. Find your friends, your family and even your pets … have a day to remember them.
Gift buying should be a way of focusing on your loved ones and trying to somehow brighten their day. We’re told to do it on one specific set of days, but don’t limit it to those calendar squares.
