Yeah, my blood pressure was a bit high this morning. That’s not surprise. It’s August.

I had the opportunity to talk to Digital Atlanta 2012 about the work I’ve done with Dragon*ConTV over the past ten years. My presentation (“The Accidental Community: Ten Years of Dragon*ConTV“) ties the history of this video production group into Dragon*Con and the growth of social media.
I had planned to post a recording of the presentation, but the audio didn’t turn out well (bad cable connection, lots of noise). The presentation materials are posted on Prezi, but I’m also posting a full script with links to the videos I used in the presentation (starts after the break).
Thanks to everyone who attended. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
Some people would be a bit worried the week before their company’s biggest trade show. For me, it’s no big deal. Nothing Intel throws at me next week can be scarier than Dragon*Con.

Aside from being a great name for a nudist Rolling Stones cover band, “bare wood” is the term that applies to projects that look finished but have only just begun. It’s inspired by the new shelves in my pantry. Continue reading “Bare Wood”
I’m not sure if I had an real dreams during my normally scheduled sleep last night, but the dream I had between the alarm going off the first time and actually getting out of bed was really strange.
There were zombies storming my house. Well, not my actual house, but whatever my dream created as an acceptable substitute for my house (it wasn’t a 100% match, but it had a nice basement). The bulk of the dream was gathering my friends together to barricade ourselves in, block doors and try to figure out why we only have one single-barrel shotgun in the house.
I know it should be nice to have a dream where your friends and coworkers come together for a common goal, but this is a bit surreal
And no … none of the zombies were carrying guitars. It wasn’t unreasonable, nobody was going to eat my eyes 🙂
