Snowball’s Chance In California

So I left for sunny San Jose yesterday. When I landed at 4:30pm it was raining. When I got up this morning, snow had fallen in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today’s high is forecasted for 51F.

By the way, it’s going to be 71F back in Atlanta today. Thats just a little weird.

Silicon Valley is an odd place. One side has beautiful green mountains, the other leads to the bay. In between is a mass of office buildings, crowded highways and cramped suburbs. As attractive as the jobs were in 1996, I remember why I didn’t move here. I like having space to spread out at home, the space for my homestead.

We arrived a bit early for the plugfest. Registration isn’t scheduled till 1pm, so we have time to tweak code and refine the testing process. I could have flown in this morning instead of yesterday, but we would have arrived minutes before registration closed … assuming no flight mishaps or problems shipping our equipment to the hotel. I don’t like cutting it that close.

Well, enough small talk. Time to get to work.
