San Jose International Airport … 8:56am
Sitting in a coffee shop, checking my e-mail.
When in the valley, do as the valley people do.
Expedia.com has a coffee shop in San Jose Terminal C, complete with a full bar and telephone jacks. I’m passing on the bloddy mary, having a coffee instead. The telephone and power connections at each table allow me to check e-mail while I wait for my departure.
Despite my newly acquired Medallion Gold status, I can’t get an upgrade on this flight. A business class upgrade on the direct flight from San Jose to Atlanta is like getting a golden ticket to the chocolate factory. I’m having to compete with some heavy-hitting Platnium Medallion members for a chance to sit in the big chair.
Looks like it’s the back of the bus for me.
Here’s an interesting statistic provided by Expedia.com:
Number of frequent flyer miles owed to US air passengers … 870 billion
Total miles to Pluto and back … 7 billion
I have a few hours to exploit my 24Kbps connection to the web. Let’s read some news.
