Remember the death of my laptop? Regular siliconchef.com readers would remember this from Monday’s entry. Toshiba was nice enough to send my return shipping carton (it was waiting for me Tuesday morning). Their support is pretty darn good. I was promised express shipping with a 36 hour turnaround time. I boxed up the laptop, filled out the paperwork, and left it for the afternoon pickup.
This system works great, assuming the express shipping company “has properly organized their feces” (translation: has their shit together). In my case, they do not.
On my way out to lunch today, I passed the shipping department. Rosa, our shipping manager, yelled at me. I went into the shipping area to find my laptop on the dock. I know that my notebook could not have been to Memphis, repaired and returned in under 24 hours. Opening the box revealed that the notebook was still in it’s original condition (i.e. not fixed) with the original paperwork still in place (i.e. no note from Toshiba confirming the repair).
It seems that the shipping monkeys at a certain air freight company got the whole TO/FROM thing confused. They picked up the laptop in the morning and promptly brought it back that afternoon (morons). That’s another day I’m without my portable creation station.
